Robert de Keyser, Managing Director of Jonny Drama Ltd, after qualifying as a chartered accountant with Price Waterhouse, embarked on his fashion career in 1980. His original
company won the franchise for Louis Féraud and in 8 years, he took the turnover to £8million.
In the mid 1980s, his was one of the first UK fashion companies to bring American labels to Britain; Nipon, JH Collectibles, Kasper, Leslie Fay as well as enjoying great success with European labels like Cerruti 1881. During this time, he carved excellent relationships with London's major department stores, Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Selfridges, House of Fraser and John Lewis.
The 1990's saw labels like Iceberg, Christian Lacroix and Joop! enjoy success under the de Keyser roof. The millennium years saw a resurgence of the American brands and de Keyser propelled Rock & Republic to its meteoric rise in the UK and was responsible for introducing Victoria Beckham to the world of fashion. It is his 35 years experience at the designer level of the UK market, detailed knowledge of the wholesale and retail business and enormous commitment that makes the company what it is today.
More recently, he spent several years developing Basler in Australia and by 2014, there were 14 Basler stores across Australia with sales in excess of AUD 12 million.
Today he is still travelling to new markets and has recently discovered several brands in Canada such as Conrad C, Novelti and Judith & Charles.
Robert de Keyser still travels the world to bring to the United Kingdom and Eire collections that he believes delivers the quality, the exclusivity, and the difference that world famous department stores and leading independent customers require.
